Accreditation is a mark of excellence awarded by a third party authoritative and independent body to an educational institution upon meeting and exceeding a criteria set by an accreditation body.
ACCAB grants “In Loco Parentis” Accreditation when an Early Education & Child Care Centre proves that it continuously maintains high standards of quality, health & safety in early childhood education and care.
ACCAB’s “In Loco Parentis” Accreditation is a voluntary Quality, Health & Safety Accreditation especially designed and managed for the Early Education & Child Care Centres (EECCC).
The Latin term in loco parentis means “in the place of a parent”. ACCAB’s “In Loco Parentis Standard” is inspired by this doctrine that the child care institutions shall act in the best interests of the children being minded as they consider fit, while not allowing what would be considered violations of the child’s personal freedom.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (commonly abbreviated as the CRC, CROC, or UNCRC) is a human rights treaty which sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. This accreditation endeavours to support all those who are concerned about the Right of the Child.
This accreditation intends to build necessary effectiveness for Quality, Health & Safety management in the face of changing needs of the society, parents, early education & child care centres and children in a planned manner. Wherein a system approach made of interrelated elements fosters a culture of reflection and continuous improvement.
ACCAB follows the same philosophy, evaluation process and rigor as the “National Safe School Accreditation”.
